The city's first public library opened in 1854 in two rooms above the town hall. In 1902 it moved to a purpose-built site on Mill Street, where it remains today. Membership was free from the start.
The library has always been on Mill Street.
Mia, your tutor
Ask Mia about any question
Once you have answered, Mia explains the step that decides it, using your own answer. She never gives it away before you try.
Every lost mark has a reason
After a mock, each missed question is filed under why it was missed. Each reason points to the lesson that fixes it.
The real format
Every question follows the current test's own format and timing. You practise exactly what you will sit.

Straight answers
Can I trust an AI band score?
We do not give one. A practice estimate is not an official result, and we have not tested any estimate against examiner marks. What you get here is evidence: the line in the passage, the criterion, the difference between two model answers. How IELTS is scored
Is this Academic or General Training?
Both. Reading and Writing Task 1 follow the test you choose. Writing Task 2, Speaking and Listening are the same in both tests. The two IELTS tests
Are these official IELTS questions?
No. Every passage, task and model answer here is original practice. Use the free official materials alongside it. IELTS Ready, free official practice
How is the overall band worked out?
It is the average of the four skill bands, rounded to the nearest half band. An average ending in .25 rounds up to the half band, and one ending in .75 rounds up to the next whole band. Official scoring
Where is Listening practice?
Four parts are written but the recordings are not made yet, so they are not playable. Reading a script is not listening practice, so the questions stay closed until the audio exists.
Can I take the test on paper?
It depends on where you book. Delivery is changing in some markets, so check what your test centre offers before you plan. Official delivery update
When can I buy the course?
Not yet, and there is no price. The practice on this site is free to use now. Leave your email above and we will write once, when the full course opens.
